FAMILY SIGHTED IN NOLA. NEW YORK AND LA-LA ON THE PHONE DREAMING. YOUR EDITOR THINKING OF DINING THIS SUMMER.
hello all,
we're having a break in the rain and it is nice. though, i am hoping for more rain soon soon. the drought totally freaks me out. lots of getting projects lined up for the year. colleen and i are excited about some new things that it looks like we will be working on. when things are more set, we'll be sure to let you know. we have a good season shaping up up at ironstone. we won't release the season for a few months, but our talent buyer, larry richter is off to a great start. i hope some of you folks make it up to murphys for a show next season. we have a great time up in the gold country.
col, daniel and i are going to go up and visit our friends that own this amazing restaurant up there. they are having a baby soon. col is cooking a bunch of food for them, and we are bringing up some baby stuff for them. only my wife would think to cook a bunch of food for a genius chef and his family. actually, they are totally psyched, and for those of you who are parents, you know what a help it will be. col is psyched to cook a bunch of vegetarian dishes for them. she has a couple of brilliant curry dishes that are awesome. she served one to blakeman and her brother-in-law, delicious!
when you come up to murphys we will definitely hang out at our friends' restaurant, mineral, amazing place. chef steve rinauro is a beautiful genius and his wife maya radisich is one of the very wise and wonderful people that i know. she is 5th generation from murphys, a very special person. can't wait for the season!

Adventures in La-La-Land #5
Wow, it's been an incredible couple weeks down here in the Land of LA. First off, we had a *GREAT* second gig at the bowling alley with Doug Grean sitting in. The band sounded great and Doug added some real rock'n'roll texture to our overall effort. It was fun! Secondly, we launched a new Facebook site for Morning Glory and had about 40 people join on the first day! Please come join the group… go to Facebook and go to: http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=280686989668&ref=ts. You'll be able to keep up with all our doings - and we WILL be posting audio links there to ALL our gigs. I'll have the first two All-Star Lanes gigs up there within the next day or two, so please come back and check it out! We just booked our next gig at the Lanes on February 21st. Again, if you are in the L.A. area and want to hear some good tunes, please drop on by! The place has a great vibe and we are really enjoying playing there. In other news, I had a great chat today with Nappy G (Gordon Clay). It was GREAT catching up with him - we haven't talked for a while, so we had a lot to catch up on, but it was so great to hear his voice! Gordon has been living life on his own terms and making a living as a musician and DJ for many years now, so it was great to talk shop and trade ideas. I certainly hope that as we progress through this next decade, all of us will be looking out for each other wherever possible, and helping to support each other's artistic and musical endeavors. I truly believe we can make some beautiful things happen together. So, let's try not to get stuck in too many 9 - 5 soul-sucking jobs, eh??? Cheers, Doug!

There are some rough cuts from the studio up on there. Craig Dryer joins us on Hammond Organ and Sax (If there is both piano and organ it is craig on Hammond). All the stuff is done live in the studio, vocals, solos, etc. Just like a show.
There is also a video of The West Side All-Stars from the Underground Lounge up our facebook page.

The Rat Report
It has been a fun week. Ricky Bear, who played drums on the J. the Savage record "Songs from the Tree of life" was in town for a couple of shows. We played the Bayou Park Bar last Friday with J. the Savage and Monday hit it with Butch Trivette at the Apple Barrel on Frenchmen St. Ricky introduced me to Butch last Summer when he came to record. He hadn't seen Butch in over 20 years, but had heard that he was staying at Camp Katrina, down in the Bywater. There have been several documentaries made about Camp Katrina, so we found the address and Butch was there. Since then I've been playing with Butch the last Monday of the month at Apple Barrel. Just before New Years at this very gig, I was delighted to look up and see none other than Ethan Nosowsky! It was great to play for an old friend who has been a real Dreamspeak fan from the very beginning and whose enthusiasm over the years is one reason I'm still pickin'! Thanks, Ethan, and so nice to meet your wife, since I missed y'all last year when you got hitched! Looking forward to Mardi Gras!
Avram Lavinsky
At long last we spoke. Avram is making progress with his new record, and thinking about working on getting some older projects that are in the can released.

Still working on booking a gig for my jazz band, practicing Uke every day, making progress on my movie script and trying to eat my veggies! Need to be a better rep for my own band!
